Mar 22, 2013 That would indeed be a huge problem It was a real pain to get one belt to track properly. I would get it all set and running true and then, all of a sudden, it would take off to the side for no apparent reason. I did a little research and found that all sanders have a bit of a crown built into the roller to make it track. These roller have none.
I built the Woodgears belt sander and and it works pretty well except Im having problems with the tracking of the belt. I built it more or less to the plans with some minor exceptions. I used 58 shafts since I had it in hand, my rollers are slightly larger diameter by a few mm or so, I also silicone coated both rollers instead of using bicycle inner tube over one.
