Hello, my partner, welcome here!
This cyclone works great with my 8 gallon shop vac, and a sandblasting cabinet. Next to no dust in the vacuum after 3 hours of use. 13 of my catch pail is full of paint dust, and fine media. Would buy this again. I used electrical tape around the shop vac hoses to build them up to the correct size.Inquiry Online

I attached this Dust Separator to a small container too small actually, and 90 of the drywall dust is captured. Still need to clean out the Shop Vac and filter, but this has saved my shop vac from burning out, and reduces the dust in the air. Would absolutely recommend and buy again. Tip be sure to attach it to AT LEAST a 3 gallon buckets ...
Nov 28, 2018 This separator collects the majority of the saw dust that I create, leaving only the finer saw dust to go through the filter of the vac and be collected. This is my preferred set up. However, getting back to the irritation, its a pain to haul both of these individual units around the shop to where Im working. So this week I designed a storage solution to simplify it. I decided to go ahead and upgrade

Feb 17, 2014 Dust Separator DIYTyler. After complete the table saw dust collector it was time to move on to a more advanced dust collection system. Not really thinking that I am going to be a super wood worker, we didnt really want to spend the money right now for a full blown dust collector so the thought was to try and use the shop-vac as the source of vacuum.

Jun 27, 2011 Here is a top view of my DIY dust collection cyclone separator. The dust filled air enters through the shop vac hose on the right. It then spins around in a cyclone. Because its heavier, the dust ends up in the bottom of the bucket while the now largely dust free air continues out the the left tube to the shop vac.
Im really pleased with this product. The separator and hose are good quality, quick to set-up and fit on a standard 5 gallon bucket. I hated emptying my shop vac and then paying about 18 bucks for a new filter. Using the Dustopper, my shop vac and filter are clean as new and the sawdust and chips all fall into the bucket which is easier ...

Jul 12, 2019 Assemble the dust collector by placing the modified bucket on top of the intact one. Use the clamps to secure them together. May 02, 2012 UPDATE Clear Vue now has an updated version of their Mini CV-06 that performs MUCH better than the one shown in this video.Check out the review here Why a Cyclone Separator. A cyclone separator is essentially a bucket with a fancy lid. When connected to a vacuum source, the lid creates a cyclonic suction that collects large dust particles minimally, and the small dust particles at
Mar 03, 2017 Duh. Using the power of your shop vac, the suction goes through the collection hose and into the Dust Separator. Like a mini tornado, the air swirls around dropping the heavier dust and debris into the bottom of the collector while keeping suction and going out to your shop vac and not clogging up your filter. Dust goes in. Air goes out.
Drywall sanding produces lots of dust no matter how dust free your joint compound claims to be, Drywall dust will quickly clog your shop vac filter and shorten the life of your vacuum. There is a wide selection of drywall dust separators on the market from 50 or so on up to several hundred dollars for a nice Festool extractor.
The Thien Cyclone Separator Lid w the Thien Cyclone Separator Baffle After seeing one sexy cyclone after another at the various woodworking forums, and with the understanding that cyclone lids arent true cyclones and dont offer a full cyclone experience, I decided to try them nonetheless.
Jan 11, 2015 Great video Jay. I took a similar vertical approach for my unwieldy shop vac5-gallon bucket with Thein baffle dust separator system for all the reasons you mentioned. With stowing my most used attachments, easy mobility, no additional floor space, and vac improvements, this project is about the best payback of all my small shop improvements.
