This cyclone works great with my 8 gallon shop vac, and a sandblasting cabinet. Next to no dust in the vacuum after 3 hours of use. 13 of my catch pail is full of paint dust, and fine media. Would buy this again. I used electrical tape around the shop vac hoses to build them up to the correct size.

Contact UsI attached this Dust Separator to a small container too small actually, and 90 of the drywall dust is captured. Still need to clean out the Shop Vac and filter, but this has saved my shop vac from burning out, and reduces the dust in the air. Would absolutely recommend and buy again. Jun 27, 2011 Here is a top view of my DIY dust collection cyclone separator. The dust filled air enters through the shop vac hose on the right. It then spins around in a cyclone. Because its heavier, the dust ends up in the bottom of the bucket while the now largely dust free air continues out the the left tube to the shop vac.

Jul 12, 2019 Assemble the dust collector by placing the modified bucket on top of the intact one. Use the clamps to secure them together. Jan 11, 2015 Great video Jay. I took a similar vertical approach for my unwieldy shop vac5-gallon bucket with Thein baffle dust separator system for all the reasons you mentioned. With stowing my most used attachments, easy mobility, no additional floor space, and vac improvements, this project is about the best payback of all my small shop improvements.
